It will allow scientists from both sides of the Channel to get an overview of the ongoing research on these topics and give them the opportunity to start or continue collaborations on either the numerical aspects or the physical aspects of PIC modelling. Some time will also be devoted to discuss the benchmarking of the various PIC codes used in the represented teams (CALDER, EMI2D, EPOCH, ILLUMINATION and PICLS) in order to create a common database of reference cases. This work was started in 2010 in the framework of HiPER.
