I am born in Nantes, where I obtained a Master degree and followed advanced courses at IMN (Institut des Materiaux) founded by Jean Rouxel. Then, I joined ENS Paris and obtained a DEA (Diplome d’Etude Approfondi) in theoretical physics in 1995.  I obtained a PhD thesis in theoretical physics at LPS Orsay in 1998 under the supervision of Bernard Coqblin. From 1998 to 2000, I was a postdoctoral fellow at ETH Zurich with T. Maurice Rice working on high-Tc superconductivity and correlated systems. Related to my PhD work, I also introduced Majorana fermions in a one-dimensional superconductor (EuroPhysics Letters EPL 49, 768 (2000)) and found a Majorana-fermions liquid related to Kondo physics (Phys. Rev. B, 60 9116 (1999)). I also tried to propose a rigorous solution of the spin-1 Kondo lattice model (Phys. Rev. Lett. 83, 848 (1999)). I mention these articles here because I have not done much publicity related to these works, up to now. In 2000, I obtained a 6-years Maitre-Assistant position in the group of Markus Buettiker in Geneva. In 2002, I obtained an assistant professor position at Sherbrooke university in Canada, which then turned into an associate tenure professor position in 2006. From 2006 to 2011, I was an associate professor at Yale University in USA and I kept a relation with Canada through the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research. In 2012, I accepted a position of CNRS Research Director and Professor PCC (Partial Time) at Ecole Polytechnique.
